About Professional Development
The objective of the AHI Professional Development activities is to enhance the current and future performance and capability of the social housing industry through the continued growth and development of the industry’s most valuable resource, its people.
AHI carries out this objective by providing social housing professionals access to a diverse range of quality professional development opportunities.
Professional development opportunities and events include:
- Seminars that enable participants to learn about the ideas and experience of others, exchange information and make connections with people with a shared interest.

- Practice Conferences that focus on a specific aspect of social housing activity
- Local Conferences that focus on local social housing issues.
- Professional Practice Networks are for people keen to come together to share ideas and solutions in the context of a particular specialisation (e.g asset management, community renewal).
- Local Member Networks and activities are run by the Branch Committees.
- Online Training that provide access to short courses of varying length which provide skills and knowledge enhancement.
- Qualification Programs that provide the opportunity to work toward nationally recognised awards.
- Learning Circles that present the opportunity for a network of people to follow up on training and reinforce learning.
