The Australasian Housing Institute is the professional body for everyone who works in social housing across New Zealand and Australia.
The AHI exists to unite and support a vibrant and self confident social housing profession across New Zealand and Australia. As a social housing professional in Australasia you are one of approximately 11,000 people working in paid and voluntary positions in public, community, Indigenous and supported housing services and in tenancy advice.
What we do.
The AHI offers members the opportunity to:
- Be recognised as a social housing professional – membership, awards, development of practice standards/accreditation, observance of our code of practice
- Make connections with your colleagues – events, publications, networks, branches, consultants, links, contact us
- Engage in social housing specific professional development – events, publications, networks, branches, qualifications
- Influence social housing policy and practice – comment, contribution, attendance.

2013 AHI Awards Program Silver Sponsor 
The 2013 AHI Awards feature eight categories. A category winner will be selected in each Australian jurisdiction and in New Zealand and announced on-line. Finalists from each jurisdiction will automatically be entered in the Australasian Awards. The National Award Winners will be announced on the 30th October 2013 at the Awards Presentation Dinner which will be held during the 8th National Housing Conference in Adelaide. Every year the Australasian Housing Institute organises a number of professional events where people working in the housing industry have an opportunity to catch up with colleagues, share experience and new ideas. People and Places
Two Master Classes from the 'People and Places' series were hosted in Melbourne and Adelaide. Participants and speakers from NSW, SA, NT, Victoria, WA and New Zealand had opportunity to focus views, sharing and learning on the built form and social and economic development. The events included virtual and real tours of local and international projects giving participants the opportunity to see firsthand some of the interesting work underway and communicate with the project leaders. And now it is time for Sydney to share its stories.
