Summary: Housing NSW is currently recruiting to two senior positions in the Assets Division, Director Project Delivery and Director Asset Policy and Programs. The Asset Division has overall accountability for the performance of the Housing NSW asset portfolio in delivery the outcomes and priorities set by government. This newly created division will be responsible for leading the planning and delivery of asset management and construction services for Housing NSW including provision of such services for other Department of Human Services agencies (Aboriginal Housing Office and Ageing and Disability).

Postion: Research Officer
Organisation: Shelter WA

Summary: The position is permanent part time at 18.75 hours per week.

Shelter WA is a non-government not-for-profit peak body representing and promoting the interests of low-income housing consumers. Shelter WA operates under a Funding Contact and Service Agreement with the Department of Housing (WA).

The objectives of the Research Officer position are to:

1. Monitor, analyse and report affordable housing data as it relates to low-income and otherwise disadvantaged housing consumers in Western Australia

2. Inform the community consultation and information provision work of Shelter WA using reliable statistics, quantitative data and relevant literature and reports

3. Prepare reports, briefing papers, articles and summaries for publication and dissemination through our networks and as reference material for the policy development, information provision and community consultation work of Shelter WA

4. Support and inform the work of the Community Development Policy Officer, including:
o Identifying areas of need for primary quantitative and qualitative research to explore current and emerging issues
o Together with other staff and stakeholders developing written or verbal surveys, questionnaires, issues papers and other research tools

Postion: Community Development and Policy Officer

Summary: The position is permanent part time at 22.5 hours per week.

Shelter WA is a non-government not-for-profit peak body representing and promoting the interests of lowincome housing consumers. Shelter WA operates under a Funding Contract and Service Agreement with the Department of Housing (WA).

This position works under the direction of the Executive Officer to engage, inform, and consult with;
· low-income housing consumers
· key staff from government and non-government agencies in housing and homeless related program and service delivery areas
· representative peak bodies

The Community Development and Policy Officer works to
· promote low-income consumer membership with Shelter WA
· develop and maintain community and consumer networks
· develop consultation processes including organising and delivering forums, workshops and information seminars
· inform and contribute to Shelter WA’s affordable housing policy role
· contribute to Shelter WA’s regular Update and Newsletter publications and reports
· participate in relevant committees and working groups

Summary: To assist the AHI in their efforts to meet the professional development needs of our industry, we are inviting members and others with housing and training / facilitation experience to register their interest in partnering with the AHI to facilitate relevant professional development workshops in Australia and/or New Zealand on a contract basis. We are seeking facilitators with dynamic presentation skills who are keen to share their knowledge and experience of the social housing sector and are passionate about skilling our industry for the future. You may have existing workshop materials ready to deliver, or be in a position to develop your own course content and materials for delivery from early to mid 2010 onwards.
