The objective of the AHI Professional Development activities is to enhance the current and future performance and capability of the social housing industry through the continued growth and development of the industry’s most valuable resource, its people. AHI carries out this objective by providing social housing professionals access to a diverse range of quality professional development opportunities.

The AHI is a respected, approachable and flexible provider of expertise. Our learning and development program is devised after close consultation with our sector to ensure that we understand and can support their needs for a skilled and professional sector. Traditionally AHI workshops are designed for people working in housing related areas, but our clients come from a diverse range of sectors - homelessness, social workers and client service staff of other organisations.

All AHI Professional Development events earn CPD points for the CHP professional accreditation. AHI Certified Housing Professional (CHP) accreditation provides the mechanism for identifying highly skilled and ethical housing professionals.  CHP will become the industry benchmark for competency and professionalism in housing. Certification provides a clear and tangible signal to the community, government, industry and employers that Certified Housing Professionals are experienced, knowledgeable, and committed to building the profession through their AHI membership.
