Welcome to the February edition of the HousingPEOPLE newsletter!
It's fantastic to see our 2019 event calendar filling up with training, networking and award reception events. We're designing our events based on your feedback and recommendations from the 2018 end-of-year member survey. Thank you for all your ideas on sector hot topics and speakers! If you have additional ideas on how to grow the network of housing professionals in your jurisdiction, get involved in your local AHI Branch Committee. Nominations to join the Branch Committee's are now open in WA, QLD, SA and VIC.
Nominations for the 2019 Professional Excellence in Housing Awards closed on February 15 and we're delighted to announce that we've beaten our last record! We've received 159 entries and now the judging process will start in early March. Registrations for the local award receptions are now open, see the calendar of award events here and register early!

The Institute was created for housing professionals and, what is more important, by the efforts of housing professionals. Each AHI member plays a significant role in creating and maintaining our professional association. The Institute's strength depends on members' involvement in its programs. One of the most meaningful and active mechanisms for members to get involved is through AHI Branch Committees. AHI Branches require excellent and committed leadership as well as passionate and enthusiastic committee members to ensure the Institute is a strong and effective organisation with sufficient representation all over Australasia. If you feel that you can contribute – please nominate to become a part of the team.
